| MDA CLE Credit Requirement As part of the contract with MDA, all panel attorneys are required to obtain CLE credits during the contract year. Twelve CLE credits are required for the 2004 contract (7/1/03 – 6/30/04). The requirement has been reduced to eight credits for the 2005 contract (7/1/04 – 6/30/05). Proof of CLE credits is required and is expected at the end of the contract period. Proof of twelve CLE credits obtained between 7/1/03 – 6/30/04 must be submitted to MDA no later than June 30, 2004. If you are unable to provide attendance certificates as proof of CLE credits, a signed affidavit outlining the specifics of the courses in which you participated will be accepted for this year only. Please request a certificate in the future as they will be required as proof of attendance for credits earned between 7/1/04 – 6/30/05, if you intend credit to be applied to your MDA requirement. Any attorney who is unable to obtain all twelve CLE credits before 6/30/04 will be granted a six month grace period in which to obtain the credits he or she is lacking. A written request is required and should be submitted to MDA by 6/30/04. Credits obtained during the grace period will ONLY be applied to the 2004 contract, and will not be applied to the 2005 requirement as well. Any attorney who does not obtain the credits by the end of the grace period (12/31/04) will be removed from the schedule and will not be eligible to take duty days until he or she is current with the requirement. |

| MDA Listserv to Start this Month MDA is starting a ‘listserv’ to encourage communication between panel attorneys. A listserv is a program that automatically distributes email messages to names on a mailing list. All MDA panel attorneys will be subscribed to the list and will receive all messages posted to it. This is a great tool to disseminate and gather information. Please feel free to post any information you feel would be valuable to the membership. You can use it to ask each other for information, swap duty days, send invitations etc. MDA will automatically register every MDA panel attorney. You will receive an email informing you of your registration. This process will take time, however every attorney will become active on the list within the next several weeks. To post a message, simply send an email to: middlesex@yahoogroups.com. Please remember that messages posted to this address are sent to all MDA attorneys, so please be respectful and use the listserv for relevant information only. |
